I've always known people like "Trumpers" existed, but the numbers astound me! Feels like we are taking a huge step back & megalomaniacal Trump is leading the charge by emboldening the bigots & misogynists, the anti-intellectuals who are unmoved (like granite) by fact or reason, the people who having been itching to throw a punch. The "Christian" candidates who decry Sharia law but want to insert THEIR religion into our govt scare me; who would make it a campaign platform to reverse gay marriage, which hurts no one, when we have a million bigger problems! We are obviously not a melting pot or a lovely stew & we seem to have forgotten the values that make the concept of America great. Our system is broken & my heart is broken.
I love Bernie's ideals, but not sure the presidency is the best use of his talents. Of course, whoever is president, what we accomplish depends on Congress. I'm skeptical of Hillary. She's very smart but I'm concerned she won't rid us of "the establishment" & big $. As an independent who generally leans democratic, Kasich is the ONLY respectable Republican who has run. He has leadership qualities, some proven successes as governor, & seems thoughtful & open to whatever might be the best solution to our country's ills.
